I'm going to remake this game across web/desktop/iOS/Web using KotlinMultiPlatform-- just give me a few months to get it up and running, I'm finishing the assets now(legally I can't reuse the ones here) and setting up a tutorial/singleplayer to get the game mechanics down. I already have the intro screen+graphics down across all 4 platforms.

Game was never so full you couldn't log in, it was just if more than 5 of a color was on (thanks to 1997 blue having a 21 to 4 advantage so often that they changed it to a 5 tank differential, 14 vs 9, nobody can join the 14). But 1997 blue was a beast, I was purple and could NEVER get past sergeant for long, I remember getting lieutenant and that was my max for almost a year. When they added Appaloosa Land, I went there, and was a major in 3 days!

YES, I would pay. Nothing insane but $5 to $10 a month if the game was up, had better bots, and got advertised. Also a ton more tournaments.
