It's hopeless, man. You can't reason with people that refuse to learn anything that goes against their preconceived ideas. No matter how simple you explain it, he's never going to understand ping. You could sit him down with 2000 ping playing a FPS, him rubber-banding all over, shooting people who aren't there, and he'd likely complain that it's because the game's speed is too slow, not because of his ping. xD
