That was me! Back in 2001, 2002-ish. I played Castles a lot with Rampage, Chaos Other 7, Yoda, kribster, adamsdog, levidog, coondog, etc.

The game can be played however you want. Don' worry about it too much. In general though,it's fun to "take a raid" by fighting back and trying to empty your duels when being attacked. Quitting low especially and running to water in a raid are generally frowned upon.

I try to pick up equipment during the raid, which is hard if 5+ guys are trying to kill me, but generally I do it when I teleport to a new screen. I have about 1-2 turns to pick up fuel / eq before they arrive
There is no set rule on how to "win" against a raid, but generally speaking, if you fight back (you empty all your dual shots against the raid), and/or they ran out of duals/homing shots and give up chasing you, you're doing really well and you will earn respect.

welcome back to the game. i see you are a great player and will get even better with time. when u r low u shouldnt quit its not a good look. running from raids to water is also a no no. but 1 vs 1 u can do what ever u want except quit low.

during a raid if u shoot all ur duals out and say be right back. majority of the players respect that if they see u did good in ur raid. if u run out of shields u shouldnt run from a raid. and no some players just like fighting till death even after they shoot all their duals.

all the players you named have no right to raid anyone. they run from raids them selves. but u had a good take. i would suggest mastering your hot keys and working on ur time of teleporting better. but u r onto good things and goodluck see u on the field.

#37. New Player, Tip of The Day!
Make multiple tanks and rank them up to captain/major, so when enemy's are raiding you can come in on your ranked tanks and practice taking raids. This will make you allot better so when you are playing on your main tank you can take raids like a beast. It just takes lots of practice.
