That's a shame. There are a few players on here (just like in any game) who are jerks. Try to get them online the same time that you'll be online so that you can help them.
If they get online sometime that you're not, then suggest to them that they pick the dominant color, and send out a few "I need equipment!" messages, and some "HELP ENEMY!" messages if they're attacked. There are some nice players too who will help.

Don't get discouraged. I will admit I'm one of the players that is never in the main map and I only come around for tournaments. But that's what's fun about this game for me. The extra competition during tournaments is one of the things that makes them so much fun. I can change my name for the next one. :)
If you keep playing tournaments I guarantee you will eventually win one and you will be so excited when you do. Then I bet you'll be back for another cup. :)

My guide already discusses ways to avoid being mobbed as a newcomer to the tourney scene. Keep your PPH up (try to fight 1v1), keep your fuel level high, avoid getting in the center of crowds of other colors, and you will be in good shape. If a mob starts forming around you, marathon-teleport until they give up. If it is still a huge issue, play an anonymous tank instead of as "noodle", win a few cups like that, get some reputation, and then come back to win on noodle. Best of luck man!

Try playing anonymous tanks in tournaments if you don't want to be targeted by packs of hungry animals. Switch up your tank names every couple of tournaments to stay incognito. You will have a much better tournament experience. I guarantee it.
