You have to wait a couple of minuets Click out of the browser and wait 5-10mins before you change ur tank color. Its part of the game They told me when I reported that issue.

If you havent figured it out yet, you just have to wait like 5 minutes before switching colors on the same tank. Thats why the color flippin noobs have a different tank for each color
