Firstly, because of equipment management efficiency...
imagine picking up 1-3 homings instead of 5-9 duals.
Secondly, on the main map(not during tournaments), turning on homing shots can give bad impression that you want to deactivate your pph partner + you are not a veteran player. It's like an unwritten rule. Maybe because unexperienced players usually tend to turn on homings while 1v1 hoping for a lucky kill.
So, be careful using homing shots while sharing points each other.
