Yes you can actually make a BOT corporal become a sargeant.
Just go to one that has full health and say "do your worst"
Don't shoot back at it and let it become Sargeant (It will after like 70 shots or whatever the MATH is).
This way, you can always basically be a Captain in game on your own :)
