With that said, many computers are configured for normal Internet activity like browsing, streaming videos, and downloading, which all don't require low ping to have high speed download. So there are some computer settings that can often improve ping to an extent (even though location is still going to greatly impact ping).
A program that can fix your computer settings for online gaming (low ping) is Leatrix Latency Fix. Search for it.

Since ping is being discussed a bit, I just thought I'd post this and possibly help someone out.
Nowadays with fiber-optic cables, ping is usually more dependent on location than anything else, especially for a game like this with such small file sizes. Ping is not your download speed, nor is it your upload speed, but is the reaction time of your connection (like your Internet connection's "agility" or "acceleration"---how quickly it can bounce data from your computer to the server and back).

The worth of screenshots and video is practically nothing. I can show you video of my ping at over 25k (for a long time), but that doesn't prove that is my average ping.
You've already publicly claimed that you have bad ping (if that's really going to make you a bigger target, the deed is done), so I still see no point in hiding it now.
Anyway... my guess is that your average ping is less than 120ms, and at most around 160ms. Keep it hidden. ;-P

If we saw your view and mine during our takes, I think we'd notice interesting things: (1) we both likely teleported at around same fuel levels, (2) you had help from others scanning and shooting the raiders (which is fine, but makes it easier) and I didn't, (3) many of the screens I teleported on had all the fuel premined purple and yours didn't.
Last thing: my take in question is not normal for me to do, while yours are for you---you play 90% to survive. Make your stats public.

Heh, my main point was that purple was premining A LOT, not so much about the ping (although ping DOES impact the game), and that I'll marathon when the raiders are premining.
I did shoot back, when it was safe for surviving (I learned from you). I've seen you teleport and move multiple times in a row before shooting back (check Benito Mussolini's video for some examples, including an instance where you teleported 5 times before you finally shot back).

I've got horrible ping; I can't teleport, scan, shoot mines, AND move to fuel before you all show up---I usually can't even scan and move before tanks show up. I took your raid the way you'd have taken it, Lilly---or better. Go eat some chicken and be happy.

Only two players I felt the need to apologize to (and did) were War Beast and Nevyn (I've forgotten their team names---both orange).

All that aside, as I've said before, when I realize there is a lot of premining going on, I'll respond with marathoning. At least two purples were premining, I ran into 3 screens full of mines, so decided to marathon.
I was out of duals close to the beginning of the raid from shooting purples who were raiding orange (I did turn duals off though, to help refill, although unsuccessfully). When you all gave up I had 0 ER's, less than 20 shields & duals. You probably could have gotten me.

You've obviously got a nice ping, yet you play it so safe. When you're finally in a jam, you hop on a ferry. Not a problem for me, I didn't (and wouldn't now) call you out on it (play how you like), except that you're being a hypocrite calling me out for the same thing.

I apologize for casting the blame on you, I just had the wrong perspective and should have thought better about things before making a post. I obviously couldn't have seen who was mining, so my post should have just been a general thing instead of trying to call any one person out.
I won't deny being a newbie---seems like I'm the only actual new player in this game. (Maybe there are others? I don't know.)

Sorry, my Internet connection died totally after I sat there for a while unable to move while getting hit. I came back in as soon as I could. I'd have lasted at least 2 more screens otherwise. :P

I don't appreciate what you did, pre-mining me in like I'm a quit-low newbie, instead of allowing the raid to continue normally after I reentered. But you like things as easy as possible, I guess (surprised my lag didn't make it easy enough for you already).

SHORT ANSWER: No sir, it is not better, nor is it more efficient to intentionally stay at low ranks to shoot higher ranks.
LONG ANSWER: Lower ranks do get more points shooting higher ranks, HOWEVER, once people realize that you're intentionally staying a low rank like that, they will dislike & avoid you, which will decrease the amount of points you get per hour enough that it's less than if you'd just rank-up.
(Only exception [probably] is if you are just bot killing.)

Don't worry about that "I Rate You" guy; he's hiding behind an anonymous tank name instead of using his main tank to call people out. Not everyone here is irate like him.
Just play to have fun! I do suggest learning and practicing raid taking (because it IS fun), but do so at your own pace. If you'd like some advice, then please ask; there are many good players willing to help you improve your skills. :)

I'm not normally one to pick on a recruit, but made an exception for you since you had just quit out low on fuel with your other tank. :P
I used to switch tanks all the time when I got close to deactivation too, but found it got boring rather quickly, and didn't make others very happy either.
Have fun, man! If you'd like any advice, just ask and there are many people willing to help you improve your game! :)
